Doña Wilma

Doña Wilma is a truly amazing person.  She was conceived after her father, a shipibo maestro, completed a one year diet with a sacred, bio-luminescent tree.  Then, while her mother was pregnant with her, her father dieted with the plant marossa, so she was named after marossa, which in Shipibo is Inkan Kena.  From a very young age, she knew she wanted to be a curandera, and her father, who always favored her because of the circumstances of her conception, taught her how to be a healer.  She is not only an incredibly healer, but a talented artisan as well.  She sews and paints the traditional shipibo textiles called telas, using her visions as inspiration for her designs.  Her knowledge of plant medicine is of the highest caliber, and she has taught her husband, don Enrique, a great deal about plant remedies.  She now leads all women’s retreats for the Ayahuasca Foundation, while don Enrique leads the courses at the AF Curandero School, Inkan Kena.
